# Page Analytics [#page-analytics]

Page Analytics is a **premium convenience feature** that gives you a window into who visits your handle page (e.g., `zerocut.gg/yourname`). It's powered by privacy-friendly visitor tracking and is meant as a helpful overview, **not a perfect record** of every visit.

If you want exact, billable numbers, look at your **donations** — those are tracked through our payment system and are always 100% accurate.

## What you can see [#what-you-can-see]

The Page Analytics dashboard shows:

* **Unique visitors**, total visits, pageviews, bounce rate, average visit duration
* **Realtime visitor count** (refreshes every 30 seconds)
* **Traffic sources** — direct, search engines, social platforms, referrers
* **Locations** — countries and regions your visitors come from
* **Devices, browsers, operating systems**
* **Goal conversions** — how many visitors actually donated, and through which payment method

## How to access it [#how-to-access-it]

1. Open your dashboard at **/app/dashboard**
2. Click the **Page Analytics** card (or the **Open dashboard** button next to the chart)
3. You'll land on **/app/dashboard/page-analytics** — this is the full DataFast-style view

You can also toggle a **Page Visitors** line on/off directly in the main dashboard chart, alongside donations, followers, and live hours.

## Caveats — please read [#caveats--please-read]

This data is best-effort, not authoritative. Here's why:

### Locations can be inaccurate [#locations-can-be-inaccurate]

Locations are inferred from the visitor's IP address. VPNs, mobile carriers (which often route traffic through distant servers), and corporate networks can place a visitor in a country or region they're not actually in. Treat country/region data as a **rough trend signal**, not as ground truth.

### Ad blockers may block tracking [#ad-blockers-may-block-tracking]

Privacy-focused users with ad blockers (uBlock, Brave Shields, Pi-hole, etc.) often block analytics scripts entirely. These visitors **will still see your page and can still donate** — they just won't show up in the visitor count. Estimates suggest 20–40% of tech-savvy visitors block analytics.

### Numbers may be lower than reality [#numbers-may-be-lower-than-reality]

Because of ad blocking, your true visitor count is almost certainly **higher** than what Page Analytics shows. Use the numbers as a directional indicator of trends — "is my traffic growing?" — not as a precise count.

### Donations are still accurate [#donations-are-still-accurate]

The good news: **donation events are tracked through our payment system, not through the visitor analytics**. So even if a visitor blocks analytics tracking, if they donate, that donation is recorded with full accuracy in the main dashboard.

## Data freshness [#data-freshness]

Page Analytics data is cached for **1 hour** to keep things fast and reduce load on the analytics service. If you need the latest numbers right now, click the **refresh button** (top right of the page) — this clears the cache and pulls fresh data.

Realtime visitor count is cached for only 60 seconds and auto-refreshes every 30 seconds.

## A note on philosophy [#a-note-on-philosophy]

We added Page Analytics as a **convenience** for creators who want to understand their reach. It's not the core of what ZeroCut does — donations are. If the analytics ever feel inaccurate or confusing, ignore them and focus on the donation numbers. Those are the ones that pay your bills.
